I'm a little late on this! But, we had some really good food last week that I'll want to remember.
Sunday: Superblob Nachos with Saul's* guacamole
do you do cheese + chip layers? you should.
Monday: Lupo Verde with friends for my birthday
Tuesday: Chicken sausage with kale salad**
FYI: I found this kale recipe better, but left out the brussels and replaced sunflower seeds for almonds
Wednesday: Thai coconut soup (M made. This was amazing)
Thursday: Shrimp & couscous (M made. Superb couscous)
Friday: Roasted chicken with harissa veggies & potatoes (one day, I'll share this recipe. It's semi-Croatian)
Saturday: Cheeseburgers @ Marvin
*Saul is my father. His guacamole recipe is super simple: avos, lime, garlic, salt, pepper, and cayenne. But it's so delicious. He taught me to ALWAYS put it in a bowl that's big enough for proper mashing, to always clean the sides of the bowl for proper presentation, sprinkle a little cayenne on before serving. My tip? Grate the garlic on a microplane. Makes for a slightly less pungent garlic taste.
**Some people are like: OMG KALE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OVER. To them I say: whatever. This salad was amazing, and I can't get all into the whole trendy vegetable thing when it comes to home cooking. I can understand a little snobbery at restaurants if kale and brussels sprouts become a crutch, but if they're made well and taste amazing and are inventive I'm not going to be like: "omg, I can't eat that it's so 2011."
